about

Maroons

WHO WE ARE, WHAT WE DO

Former students of the two foremost educational institutions in Sri Lanka, Ananda and Nalanda, who are currently residing in the United Arab Emirates, formed a group named “Maroons “ to carry out social and sports events in the UAE. It was initially set up to form a cricket team of past Anandians and Nalandians to conduct famous Battle of the Maroons big match in the UAE.

Our objective is now focused on providing a new direction through regular communications and interaction and, building relationships with other Sri Lankan organizations and associations in the UAE. We therefore offer opportunities for our fellow members and their families to meet and foster fellowship among themselves by organizing events and projects.

Amongst them, the most notable is the annual “Maroons Night“ Dinner Dance , which has been a success story with the “ Maroons” working so closely together as one team.

I am pleased to note the important role that the old boys have been playing in the UAE"While making an important place to this function in the annual calendar of events of old boys of the two prestigious schools in Sri Lanka “Ananda and Nalanda”, I am pleased to note the important role that the old boys have been playing in the UAE in different industries and fields as professionals."
